THE NEW CUPCAKE?

I've read it, but I'm not sure I believe it. Frozen yogurt is the new cupcake? How can that be? It must be an urban legend! I mean, I love a frosty, healthy serving of fro yo, but I'm not ready to abandon the cupcake for it! However, after doing a Google search for the cold stuff, I found that there may actually be some truth to this; it may not be an urban legend after all! With fancy advertisers and funky decor, I'm afraid the ole' cupcake may need to watch it's back! Some of my favorite yogurt shops are Pinkberry, Tasti D•lite, Yogurtland, Red Mango, and the super cool - but only in England - Snog.

Ok, maybe they are onto something, but in my opinion (which really only matters to me), the two inches of frosting at Magnolia Bakery or Sprinkles will never be replaced!

PHOTOGRAPHY OVERWHELMEDNESS... UM, IS THAT A WORD?

It's not unlike me to get carried away with excitement, especially over something having to do with art! This was the case last year, while still in the safe and nurturing environment of school, when I signed up for a digital photography class as part of my Journalism degree. Long story short, I became so inspired that I spent too-many-hundred dollars on a new digital SLR, two lenses and a fancy little bag where they could all live. Fast forward a year and there they all sit, comfortably in their home, at the top of my closet. Untouched. Yep, I was overwhelmed!

I got a B+ in the class, but I used my mom's old point-and-shoot to get it. So, there it sat, a colossal waste of money, mocking me every time I opened my closet. But last week my inspiration returned when I stumbled upon The Pioneer Woman. Her blog is about many things, but the photography section is what caught my attention! Her photos are wonderful and her tutorials are simple and easy to follow. Perfect for overwhelmed beginners such as myself!

Hello blogosphere, Internet, or whatever you prefer to be called. I am Juliet and this is my brand new blog!
